What exactly is an overpack drum?
An overpack drum serves as a container specifically engineered to offer extra protection and containment for smaller containers during both storage and transport. This type of drum is utilised when the integrity of the original container has been compromised or when there is a need to consolidate multiple smaller containers.
The main function of an overpack drum is to avert leaks, spills, and additional harm to the original containers, while also simplifying handling and transportation. Essentially, it functions as a secondary vessel that encases and secures the primary containers inside it.
Eagle Lab Pack Style Screw Lid Drum
This Eagle Overpack Drum is engineered for the safe transport and storage of non-leaking, undamaged containers holding hazardous materials. As a Lab Pack-style drum, it is ideal for use with intact cans and containers. If materials are leaking, be sure to include sufficient absorbents—no free liquids should be present.
Made from yellow blow-moulded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with built-in UV inhibitors, this drum offers a lightweight yet rugged solution that is both chemical- and weather-resistant. The secure screw-on lid with a gasket ensures a tight, leak-resistant seal.
